#1 ULTIMATE AUTHORITY BELONGS TO JESUS. vv. 21-22

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Matthew 28:18 (NIV)

#2 THERE IS ORGANIZED OPPOSITION TO THE WORK OF CHRIST. vv. 23-26

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)

#3 SPIRITUAL WEAPONS AND ARMOUR MUST BE USED TO FIGHT SPIRITUAL BATTLES.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)

#4 WHEN JESUS SHOWS UP, GOD’S GLORY IS ON DISPLAY vv. 27-28

For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” 2 Peter 1:16-17 (NIV)
