VBS18 Game On! July 1, 2018 – 2 Peter 1:1-11

#1 LIFE IN CHRIST BEGINS WITH FAITH. vv. 1-2

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, wehave peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.

#2 LIFE IN CHRIST SUPPLIES POWER FOR LIVING. vv.3-4

The lions may grow weak and hungry,but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Psalm 34:10 (NIV)

#3 LIFE IN CHRIST REQUIRES GROWTH. vv.5-7

Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.  For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:12-13 (NLT)

#4 LIFE IN CHRIST BRING SPECIFIC RESULTS. vv.8-11

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 (NIV)

But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.  For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.  You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.  But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. James 1:22-25 (NLT)
